Senator Ned Nwoko: Nnamdi Kanu’s Release Can Bring Peace to South-East Nigeria

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has made a compelling case for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to Nwoko, Kanu’s freedom could be a crucial step towards restoring peace in the South-East region of Nigeria.

Nwoko emphasized the need for equity and justice in addressing the region’s grievances. He suggested that two key steps could significantly ease tensions:

– Creating an additional state for the South-East region
– Releasing Nnamdi Kanu from detention

Nwoko believes that Kanu’s continued incarceration has contributed to the lingering crisis in the region. He urged the authorities to either try Kanu or release him, citing concerns about the legitimacy of his detention. By addressing these grievances, Nwoko is optimistic that peace can return to the South-East .
