Presidency Hits Back at ADC Over Buhari’s Death Exploitation Claims
The Presidency has responded strongly to allegations made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is exploiting the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari for political gain. The ADC claimed that the Tinubu administration is using Buhari’s death to whitewash its image.
However, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, described the ADC’s claims as “shameless” and “obnoxious.” He accused the opposition party of disrespecting Buhari’s memory and exploiting his death for political relevance.
Dare specifically pointed to the actions of key ADC figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai, who attended Buhari’s burial in Daura. He suggested that their presence was an attempt to make political capital out of the occasion.
The Presidency’s response highlights the intense political dynamics at play in Nigeria. While the ADC accuses the Tinubu administration of exploiting Buhari’s death, the Presidency fires back, accusing the opposition party of doing the same. The question remains: who is exploiting Buhari’s death for political gain
