Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Reject Tinubu Over Power Failure

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi is calling on Nigerians to reject President Bola Tinubu in the next election, citing Tinubu’s own words on electricity supply. Obi referenced a statement made by Tinubu, saying “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.

Obi argues that Tinubu’s condition has been met, in the negative, with power generation declining from over 4,000 megawatts in 2023 to below that figure, while electricity tariffs have risen considerably.

Describing the situation as “a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust”, Obi urges Nigerians to hold Tinubu to his word and reject him in the next election.

Declining power generation
Rising electricity tariffs
Broken promises and lack of trust

Will Nigerians heed Obi’s call? The outcome remains uncertain, but one thing is clear – the power crisis remains a pressing issue in Nigeria.
