Osun Governor Adeleke to Stick with PDP, Rules Out Defection to ADC
In a bid to quash speculations about his potential defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, has confirmed that the governor will remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Rasheed made it clear that Adeleke has no plans to join the ADC or align with any interest within the party ahead of the 2026 state elections.
Rasheed emphasized that Adeleke is committed to the PDP and will run for the 2026 governorship election on the party’s platform. He also noted that the governor has no need to form an alliance with the ADC to win the election, expressing confidence that Adeleke will emerge victorious with a wide margin.
The spokesperson also highlighted the PDP’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, stating that this development rules out any possibility of an alliance between the PDP and ADC.
Governor Adeleke’s decision to stick with the PDP sends a strong signal about his commitment to the party and its ideals. With the 2026 governorship election approaching, it will be interesting to see how Adeleke’s campaign unfolds and whether he can deliver on his promise to win with a wide margin.
