Kwankwaso Open to Joining APC, Says Ally Jibrin

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), is still open to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This is according to Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the NNPP, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today .

Jibrin revealed that Kwankwaso’s doors are always open for discussions, and everything is a possibility. He emphasized that the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by Kwankwaso, is a potent political force that cannot be ignored. When asked about potential obstacles to Kwankwaso’s defection, Jibrin suggested that internal resistance within the APC in Kano could be a factor .

Jibrin clarified that as an adult, he can make his own decisions and doesn’t need Kwankwaso’s permission to leave the NNPP. While he didn’t confirm his own defection to the APC, he stated that “everything is a possibility”. Jibrin’s comments have sparked speculation about Kwankwaso’s future plans and potential political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections .
