Fani-Kayode Slams Peter Obi Over Comments on NADECO and Abacha
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticized former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi for his recent comments on Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle. Obi had implied that late dictator General Sani Abacha was more democratic than some pro-democracy activists, sparking widespread backlash.

Obi’s comments, made in response to INEC’s derecognition of ADC leadership, drew sharp criticism from Fani-Kayode, who accused Obi of diminishing the sacrifices of activists who fought against military rule.
“You have totally and completely lost your mind,” Fani-Kayode wrote on X, describing Obi’s remarks as “offensive to the memory of those who fought against military dictatorship”.
