BAKASSI INTERNATIONAL FISH FESTIVAL COLLABORATE WITH MINISTRY OF LIVESTOCK, FISHERIES AND AGRICULTURE

The honourable Commissioner for Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture & Fisheries, Ntufam Emmanuel Anom gave a warm welcome to the Bakassi International Fish Festival board of trustees and the 2023 (2nd Edition) Central Planning Committee members at his office The Ministry of Agriculture IBB way Calabar. The event saw a reunion of friendship as Chief /Elder Godfrey Offiong Bassey a bosom friend to the commissioner got to meet with his friend, associate and political ally in the struggle that brought power back to South and to the merit of Prince Bassey Edet Otu for the first time officially.

Chief Ani Esin briefed the commissioner on the delegation and reasons for the visit requesting synergy and great partnership with the ministry on the incoming Bakassi International Fish Festival slated to hold on 26 and 27 of this month September 2023. The commissioner was also briefed by Chief Godfrey Bassey AkA Bassey Iyak on recently generated international relationship with the Equatorial Guinea consulate as occasioned by the visit of the festival committee and the consulate general’s promises and expression of interest to do international and official dealings with Nigeria, Cross River State and our locals inclusive.

The Commissioner applauded the committee on such initiative to show Bakassi LGA in a different light and also appreciated them for the international connection created and for bringing it to his table. He promised that a date would be arranged as to when he would lead the Equatorial Guinea consulate to meet with the Governor Official. He promised his presence and maximum support for the event proper. Madam Frank Edima on her vote of thanks salute the Hon. Commissioner for opening his arms to welcome the group on delegation as the pioneer commissioner of the ministry of fisheries which deals directly with the mission and vision for the whole essence of the festival.

Comrade Akwa Edet Etim presented the commissioner with the festival’s first edition magazine and line up program for the 2 day event.

The commissioner endorsed the Bakassi International Fish Festival.
