APC Slams False Reports of Being Declared Terrorist

Organization by Canadian Court
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has vehemently denied reports that a Canadian court declared the party a terrorist organization. According to the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, these reports are “false and misleading”. The party clarified that the Canadian court’s ruling was related to a case involving Douglas Egharevba, who was deemed inadmissible in Canada due to his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), not the APC .

The case in question involved Egharevba’s appeal against a decision by the Canadian Immigration Appeal Division (IAD). The IAD had determined that Egharevba was inadmissible in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) due to his association with the PDP, which was deemed an organization engaged in acts of subversion. The court’s ruling did not mention the APC as a terrorist organization.

The APC has called on its members, supporters, and Nigerians at large to disregard the reports, describing them as “highly erroneous”. The party emphasized that there is no truth to the claims that a Canadian court declared the APC a terrorist organization. Morka’s statement aims to set the record straight and reassure APC supporters that the party’s reputation remains intact.

In Canada, terrorist entities are listed under the Criminal Code, and the government regularly reviews and updates this list. The designation is based on an entity’s involvement in terrorist activities, and it has significant implications for the entity’s financial and operational activities. Public Safety Canada maintains a list of terrorist entities, which is updated regularly .

The APC’s denial of the reports highlights the importance of verifying information before dissemination. The party’s call to action serves as a reminder to rely on credible sources and avoid spreading misinformation. By doing so, we can ensure that accurate information is shared, and unnecessary controversy is avoided.
