The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on Igbo people to end their agitations for a separate Biafran nation, citing the inclusive governance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Umahi believes that the administration has addressed long-standing grievances through inclusion and integration, giving Ndigbo what they had sought for decades .

Umahi highlighted the administration’s efforts to promote inclusion and integration, citing the appointment of Igbo people to key positions in government. He noted that the South-East has received its full quota in national appointments, with Igbo sons and daughters occupying strategic positions .

The minister also pointed to the numerous infrastructure projects springing up across the South-East, which he said were previously unattainable. He attributed this development to the alignment of governors in the region with the APC-led Federal Government .

Umahi emphasized that the push for Biafran secession was driven by neglect, exclusion, and underrepresentation, but that the narrative has changed under the current administration. He stated that when a people are fully integrated, respected, and empowered within the structure of the nation, the dream they once chased through agitation has already been achieved through cooperation .

The minister’s call for an end to Biafra agitations highlights the importance of inclusive governance and cooperation in addressing long-standing grievances. By promoting inclusion, equity, and concrete development, the administration hopes to create a more united and prosperous nation.
