Rivers State Governor -Siminalayi Fubara Pledges Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his commitment to delivering the state for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. This declaration was made after Fubara officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and received his membership card from the State APC Chairman, Tony Okocha .
Fubara’s decision to join the APC comes after 17 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly defected to the ruling party. The governor stated that his defection was in the interest of the state’s progress and development, and also as a way of reciprocating President Tinubu’s support .
As the leader of the APC in Rivers State, Fubara pledged to ensure the party remains active and strong. He assured that every need of the party’s executive and members would be taken care of, stating, “We will do everything to keep APC as the main and active progressive party in Rivers State” .
