FCT Minister Wike Slams PDP Expulsion Notice, Vows to Fight Back
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has rejected an expulsion notice issued by a faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. Wike, a founding member of the PDP, asserts that he will not be intimidated or expelled from the party he helped build .
In a statement at a meeting with the party’s Board of Trustees and National Executive Council, Wike questioned the legitimacy of the expulsion notice, asking how those who met him in the PDP could now seek to drag him out. “How can those who met me in my house now drag me out? I will never allow it,” he declared. Wike emphasized his contributions to the party’s growth and his commitment to its ideals .
The FCT Minister urged PDP stakeholders to remain firm and strong, warning that those who do not have the party’s best interests at heart are on their way out. “We will not allow those who have not contributed to the party’s growth to destroy it,” he said. Wike’s stance has been backed by other prominent PDP members, including former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and former Deputy Speaker Uche Nwuche .
