At its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, the party expelled several high-profile members, including Federal Capital Minister Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and former Governor Ayo Fayose, for alleged anti-party activities.
The decision to expel these members was made after a motion was moved by Chief Olabode George, a party elder, and seconded by Samaila Buga, chairman of the PDP in Bauchi. The motion was unanimously supported by delegates, highlighting the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct .
