PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, and Others: A New Era for the Party?

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a bold step towards restoring unity and discipline within its ranks. At its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, the party expelled several high-profile members, including Federal Capital Minister Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and former Governor Ayo Fayose, for alleged anti-party activities.

The decision to expel these members was made after a motion was moved by Chief Olabode George, a party elder, and seconded by Samaila Buga, chairman of the PDP in Bauchi. The motion was unanimously supported by delegates, highlighting the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct .

Samuel Anyanwu : PDP National Secretary
Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN ):National Legal Adviser
Austin Nwachukwu: PDP member
Umar Bature : National Organising Secretary
-AbdulRahman Mohammed:Factional chairman aligned with Wike’s camp
Mao Ohuabunwa : PDP member
George Turner: PDP member
Dan Orbih:PDP member

The PDP’s decision to expel these members signals a renewed focus on unity and discipline within the party. With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, the party is likely seeking to strengthen its internal structures and present a united front to the Nigerian people
