Kebbi Governor Vows to Sign Death Warrant for Convicted Bandit Informants

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has promised to sign the death warrant of any convicted informant aiding bandits within 24 hours of conviction. The governor made this statement during a condolence visit to Zogirma community in Bunza Local Government Area, where three police officers were recently killed in a bandit attack.

Governor Idris condemned informants collaborating with criminal elements for petty gain, saying they deserve capital punishment and should not live among law-abiding citizens. He assured that his administration will enact a law prescribing the death penalty for informants aiding banditry in the state.

The governor also pledged to deploy more security personnel to vulnerable areas to ensure citizens’ safety. “We will do everything humanly possible to ensure our citizens sleep with both eyes closed. Security remains our top priority, and we will not treat it with levity,” Idris said.

The governor’s stance on informants aiding bandits sends a strong message about the state’s commitment to security. The deployment of additional security personnel aims to prevent further attacks and ensure citizens’ safety.
