Nigeria’s INEC Prepares for Bye-Elections with Over 30,000 Officials

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is gearing up for bye-elections in 16 constituencies across Nigeria. INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced that over 30,000 electoral officials will be deployed to conduct the polls.

Constituencies Involved
The bye-elections will be held in:

– 2 senatorial districts
– 5 federal constituencies
– 9 state assembly seats

However, elections will not be held in two constituencies:

– Khana II constituency in Rivers State due to a subsisting state of emergency
– Talata Mafara South in Zamfara State owing to ongoing court proceedings
