WINNER OF CALABAR CARNIVAL 2024 EMERGE.

The iconic Calabar Carnival, known as Africa’s largest street festival, has concluded with the Calavegas band taking home the top honors as first winner. The festive atmosphere in Calabar this holiday season has been filled with celebration and excitement as various events unfolded in the region.

Renowned as a tourist hotspot, Cross River State attracted visitors from around the world, drawn to the lively festivities during this time of year. This year’s carnival, themed “Our Shared Prosperity,” has made a notable impact on the local and State economy.

At the closing of the event, Calavegas band was crowned the overall winner of the 2024 carnival, while the Seagull Band secured the second spot and the Freedom band emerge the third winner.

In the Junior carnival category, Calavegas repeated their success, as first winner followed by the Seagull Band as second winner and the Bayside Band as third winner

In the cultural carnival segment, Yakurr Local Government Area (LGA) emerge as first winner in the Local Government Area category, with Calabar South and Odukpani LGAs taking second and third positions respectively.

For the state category, Akwa Ibom state emerge the first winner, followed by Osun and Delta states which took second and third positions respectively.
