Tragic Incident in Ondo State: First Lady Remi Tinubu’s Convoy Involved in Fatal Accident
A devastating accident occurred in Ondo State when a vehicle in the convoy of Nigerian First Lady, Remi Tinubu, knocked down and killed a seven-year-old girl named Saratu Lawal. The incident happened on Thursday, April 17, 2025, while the First Lady was en route to flag off the South-West leg of the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The accident occurred around Oba Ile, Akure, Ondo State.
Vehicle Involved :A butter-colored Hilux in the First Lady’s convoy.
The Seven-year-old Saratu Lawal, a pupil of Islamiyar Arabic School, Shasha.
The incident happened while the convoy was moving from the airport to the venue of the event.
Aftermath
The lifeless body of the child has been handed over to the family for burial in line with Islamic injunctions. The father of the deceased, Malam Lawali, has reportedly handed everything to God.

Remi Tinubu was in Akure to flag off the Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at improving the well-being of women and girls across the country. The initiative also includes distributing professional kits to nurses and midwives in the South-West region .
