PDP Crisis Deepens: Wike Pulls Out of Reconciliation Deal, Points Finger at Makinde

The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a dramatic turn with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, pulling out of the party’s reconciliation deal. Wike cited Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as the primary reason for the party’s problems, accusing him of non-adherence to agreements and serial violations of mutual understandings.

In a strongly-worded statement, Wike accused key party leaders, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, of betrayal and dishonesty. He claimed that these actions have contributed to the party’s internal turmoil.

According to Wike, the PDP’s crisis began after the 2023 general elections. He has vowed to “fight on until justice is attained,” indicating a prolonged and intense battle within the party.

The collapse of the reconciliation deal marks a significant setback for the PDP’s efforts to heal its internal wounds. The party’s ability to present a united front against its opponents is now in question.

The PDP’s future hangs in the balance as the internal conflict escalates. Will the party be able to find a way to reconcile its differences, or will the crisis continue to deepen? The outcome will have significant implications for the party’s prospects in future elections.
