Pastor Adeboye Defends First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s RCCG Ordination: “We Don’t Bow to Political Pressure”
RCCG General Overseer Enoch Adejare Adeboye has shut down calls to remove First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as an ordained pastor, saying her position in the church has nothing to do with politics.
Speaking at the monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye clarified that Mrs. Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor over 10 years ago— long before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ran for office.
“The First Lady went through the full process of ordination and has not violated any of the church’s guidelines,” Adeboye stated. “The church will not bow to external pressure calling for her removal.”
He stressed that the Redeemed Christian Church of God is not an APC church and doesn’t operate based on political affiliation. RCCG, he said, welcomes worshippers from APC, PDP, ADC, APGA, LP, and all parties, but draws the line at campaigning from the pulpit.b3 Key Points from Adeboye’s Statement.
