NYSC Corps Members in Benue State Cry Out for Unpaid Allowances
Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch B Stream II in Benue State are appealing to Governor Hyacinth Alia to pay their monthly allowance of N15,000, which has been outstanding for 11 months. The corps members, deployed across various sectors in the state, are finding it challenging to cope with the financial burden.
The corps members are serving in rural areas, contributing to education, health, and development, often at their own expense. The lack of payment has made their service even more difficult.
In an open letter, the corps members respectfully appealed to Governor Alia to fulfill the state’s promise. They expressed their disappointment in not receiving any payment or official communication regarding the delay.
The unpaid allowances have put a significant strain on the corps members. It is hoped that the state government will take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that the corps members receive their due payments.
