IPOB Alleges Nigerian Government’s Use of Fake DSS Witness in Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the Nigerian government of presenting a fake Department of State Services (DSS) witness in the ongoing trial of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu. According to IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the witness, identified as PW-BBB, is not a genuine DSS officer but rather an individual affiliated with a law firm, having no legitimate ties to DSS operations.

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, is facing trial on charges related to terrorism and treasonable felony. The case, which started in 2015, has experienced significant delays, with the prosecution recently presenting witnesses, including a DSS operative known as PWAAA, who testified that no instruments of terrorism were found on Kanu during his arrest .

IPOB expressed concerns over the credibility of the prosecution’s witness, stating that the name and testimony of PW-BBB were not included in the original list of prosecution witnesses provided to the defense. This development has raised questions about the integrity of the DSS witness, PWAAA, testified that no instruments of terrorism or violence were recovered from Kanu during his arrest in 2015.

The DSS presented items recovered from Kanu, including radio equipment, laptops, and phones, which the prosecution claims were used for broadcasting purposes.
Kanu admitted establishing Radio Biafra in London and broadcasting without a Nigerian license, stating he knew he wouldn’t be issued a license.
