Governor Bassey Otu Returns to Office

Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has officially resumed his duties following a three-week vacation that began on March 11, 2025. His first task upon returning is to chair the gubernatorial primary election for the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State. The Governor arrived in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, on the evening of Friday, April 4, 2025, in preparation for the primary election scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, April 5. He also announced the cancellation of a two-week leave extension that had been approved by the State House of Assembly.

Governor Otu emphasized, “The work ahead is crucial, and his dedication to advancing Cross River takes priority over personal time away.” He has communicated this decision to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, and is eager to continue pursuing the state’s developmental agenda with renewed vigor. He expressed gratitude for the public’s prayers, support, and trust, stating, “Together, we will work towards building a prosperous Cross River State where all can succeed.”
