A New Dawn for Coastal States: The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a game-changer for Nigeria’s coastal states, and Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, is thrilled about the project’s potential. During the official commissioning of the project’s first phase in Lagos, Governor Otu praised President Bola Tinubu, saying the highway reflects the Renewed Hope agenda in action.

According to Governor Otu, the highway will unlock massive opportunities for Cross River and other coastal states, improving transportation, tourism, trade, and investment across the region. “This project is a step towards unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s coastal corridor,” he said. With construction already underway in Cross River, the Governor is confident that the highway will drive growth and development in the state.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a 700-kilometer mega road project that will link several states along the southern coastline. The first 30-kilometer stretch has been commissioned, marking a major milestone in the project’s journey. Governor Otu expressed his administration’s full support for the project, assuring that they will collaborate closely with the federal government to ensure its success.

With construction progressing steadily, the highway is expected to become a catalyst for economic growth, regional integration, and national unity. Governor Otu’s enthusiasm for the project is palpable, and he believes it will have a transformative impact on the region. “Cross River is ready. We believe in this project, and we will give it all the support it needs to succeed,” he said.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is more than just a road project – it’s a symbol of progress and a beacon of hope for the future. As the project nears completion, Nigerians can look forward to improved economic opportunities, increased connectivity, and a brighter future for generations to come.
