N54.5 Million Spent on Cleaning and Fumigation: A Claste of Government Spending

The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation has come under scrutiny for spending a whopping N54.5 million on cleaning, fumigation, and disinfection services for January and February 2025. According to records from the public payment portal, Govspend, several payments were made to different companies on April 22 and 23, 2025, for these services.

Some of the companies that received payments include:
– Daab Pro Limited (N5.7 million)
– Edamis Concept Limited (N5.5 million)
– Emjas Allied Nigeria Limited (N5.087 million)
– Vent Force Limited (N5.8 million)
– Isymus Nigeria Limited (N5.6 million)

The sheer number of companies contracted for seemingly identical services has raised questions about procurement efficiency and necessity.

This incident has sparked outrage and concerns about government spending and accountability. Critics argue that such lavish spending is unjustifiable, especially when citizens are grappling with economic hardship.
