Tinubu: Education Key to Reducing Poverty

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the importance of education in reducing poverty and promoting economic growth in Nigeria. During a meeting with the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu highlighted his administration’s commitment to equipping Nigerian youths with globally competitive skills to secure their future .

Tinubu explained that his administration’s economic and institutional reforms are designed to drive growth and prosperity for the nation. He noted that the reforms take into account the country’s demographics and focus on skills development, citing the special education loan fund as an example. This fund ensures that students who gain admission to universities can stay in school and receive support to complete their education .

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation has praised the Tinubu administration’s reforms, saying they have drawn positive global reviews. The foundation will be hosting its award events in Lagos, in partnership with the Lagos State Government, to recognize young Nigerians who are pursuing their passions and developing relevant skills .
