A disturbing incident of child abuse has been reported in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, where a 16-year-old domestic worker was allegedly scalded with hot water by her employer. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) rescued the victim after receiving a tip-off from neighbors who witnessed the assault .

According to NAPTIP, the victim was employed to care for her employer’s three children, including two-month-old twins and a seven-year-old boy. The employer allegedly poured hot water on the victim, causing her severe burns. Neighbors who witnessed the incident quickly rushed her to a hospital and contacted NAPTIP, prompting a swift rescue operation.
