The Rector lamented that Nigeria’s over-reliance on theoretical knowledge has hindered the country’s progress. He urged the government to prioritize technical and polytechnic education, emphasizing that it is essential for driving innovation and development.

Adegun’s call comes as the institution prepares for its forthcoming convocation ceremony, which will see over 25,000 graduates receive their certificates. The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the institution, which has faced financial and administrative challenges in the past.

The preservation of polytechnic education is crucial for Nigeria’s development. By prioritizing technical and polytechnic education, the government can equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to drive innovation and growth in the country.
