Born on February 28, 1968, in Nigeria, Lieutenant General Lagbaja’s military career began in 1987 when he enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1992 and went on to serve in various key positions, including platoon commander in the 93 Battalion and 72 Special Forces Battalion. Over the years, he became a pivotal figure in several high-stakes internal security operations, such as Operation Zaki in Benue State, Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno, and Operation Forest Sanity in Kaduna and Niger States.
His leadership was instrumental in safeguarding Nigeria’s security, particularly in conflict zones. A graduate of the prestigious U.S. Army War College, Lagbaja earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies, further highlighting his commitment to professional development and military excellence.
