The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to protest in demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, advising them to stay away from Aso Rock and its environs. This warning follows a Federal High Court order in Abuja, which restrained any form of protest around the Aso Rock and its environs in a suit between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Omoyele Sowore & 4 others .
The court order specifically restricts protests in the following areas .
Aso Rock Villa and its environs
-National Assembly Complex
Force Headquarters
-Court of Appeal
– Eagle Square
– Shehu Shagari Way
The police advise all intending protesters and counter-protest groups to avoid restricted areas and refrain from any acts that could provoke confrontation or disturb public order. This move is seen as a measure to maintain law and order in the country, particularly in sensitive areas like Aso Rock.
