NSC Chairman Dikko Sets the Record Straight on Super Falcons’ Allowances

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, has denied claims that the payment of allowances to the Super Falcons ahead of the 2025 WAFCON finals has been delayed. According to Dikko, the perceived delays are not deliberate but rather a result of the bureaucratic nature of government processes.

Dikko explained that the payment process involves several steps and approvals, which can take time. He emphasized that all bonuses, including those for the final match, have been approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and released by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The NSC Chairman reiterated the administration’s commitment to fairness and ensuring that female players receive decent bonuses. He noted that the female players have consistently been factored into the national sports budget and are getting the bonuses they deserve.

Dikko assured that the Super Falcons will receive their allowances by the close of business on Friday, as instructed by the relevant authorities. He emphasized that everything possible is being done to ensure the players receive their money on time.

The clarification by the NSC Chairman puts to rest speculation is surrounding the payment of allowances to the Super Falcons. The team’s chances of winning the WAFCON title are high, and the players’ morale will likely be boosted by the timely payment of their allowances.
