Nigeria Climbs to 38th in Latest FIFA Rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have risen three places to 38th in the latest FIFA men’s world ranking, announced on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. This jump reflects Nigeria’s impressive performances in their recent matches, including a 4-1 victory over Gabon and a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in the African play-off .

Although Nigeria missed out on the 2026 World Cup, their recent results have earned them 1,502.46 points, placing them fifth among African nations. Morocco tops the African rankings with 1,713.12 points, followed by Senegal (19th), Egypt (34th), and Algeria (35th)

– Senegal: 1,648.07 points (19th globally)
– Egypt: 1,520.68 points (34th globally)
– Algeria: 1,516.37 points (35th globally)
– Nigeria: 1,502.46 points (38th globally)

Competition Ahead

The Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled for December in Morocco, providing Nigeria with an opportunity to consolidate or extend their standing in the rankings. A strong showing in the tournament could propel them back up the table

Globally, Spain retains its top spot, followed closely by Argentina and France. Brazil has risen to fifth place, overtaking England and Portugal .
