Morocco U-17 Team Makes History with Record-Breaking 16-0 Win

In a stunning display of skill and dominance, the Moroccan U-17 team thrashed New Caledonia 16-0 in a FIFA U-17 World Cup match, securing a significant boost in their quest for qualification. The match saw 10 Moroccan players contribute to the scoring, with Abdellah Ouazane netting twice in just 27 minutes after being introduced as a substitute.

The victory marked a turning point for Morocco, catapulting their goal difference from -8 to +8 and enhancing their chances of progressing as one of the best third-placed teams. The team’s performance was impressive, with players like Abdelali Eddaoudi, Ilyas Hidaoui, and Zyad Baha scoring crucial goals.

New Caledonia, on the other hand, struggled to cope with the Moroccan team’s onslaught. Despite their valiant efforts, they were unable to withstand the pressure, with two players being sent off in the first half. The 16-0 defeat surpasses the previous record of 13-0 set by Spain against New Zealand in 1997, marking the biggest loss in U-17 World Cup history.

The win has significantly improved Morocco’s chances of advancing to the next stage of the tournament. With the group stage coming to a close, the Atlas Lions will be looking to build on this momentum and secure a spot in the knockout rounds.
