Mbappé Withdraws Harassment Complaint Against PSG

Kylian Mbappé has officially withdrawn his complaint of moral harassment against his former club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), according to his lawyer Pierre-Olivier Sur. The decision comes just days before Mbappé’s current club, Real Madrid, faces PSG in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.

Mbappé had alleged mistreatment by PSG at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, claiming he was marginalized and made to train separately with players the club intended to sell after he refused to sign a new contract. This practice, which has affected other professional footballers, had also prompted a complaint by the French players’ union in 2023.

The complaint had triggered an investigation by the Paris prosecutor’s office last month. However, Mbappé has now decided to withdraw his civil action, potentially putting an end to this particular dispute.

Despite withdrawing the harassment complaint, Mbappé remains in a legal dispute with PSG over an estimated €55 million ($64.4 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses. This separate matter is still ongoing in court.

Mbappé’s decision to withdraw his complaint against PSG marks a significant development in the ongoing saga between the two parties. As Mbappé continues to play for Real Madrid, the outcome of the remaining legal dispute will be closely watched by football fans and insiders alike.
