MAN Honors Cross River Governor for Promoting Made-in-Nigeria Products

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has recognized Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, as the Champion of Made-in-Nigeria Products for his administration’s commitment to promoting indigenous products and services. The award was presented at the 5th Adeola Odutola Lecture in Lagos, which brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and development partners to discuss strategies for strengthening local production.

MAN President, Francis Meshioye, commended Governor Otu for “walking the talk” on local content development through practical policies and procurement choices that have stimulated domestic manufacturing and created jobs. Meshioye emphasized that the Cross River example demonstrates that leadership by example is the most powerful endorsement of the Made-in-Nigeria vision.

Governor Otu’s deputy, Peter Odey, received the plaque on his behalf and described the award as a validation of Governor Otu’s deliberate and consistent policies to reawaken Nigeria’s productive capacity. This recognition highlights the impact of Governor Otu’s administration on promoting Made-in-Nigeria products and its potential to inspire other states to follow suit.

The MAN’s recognition of Governor Otu’s efforts underscores the importance of collaboration between government and industry in promoting local content development and economic growth .
