Libya Deports 80 Nigerian Migrants

The Libyan authorities have deported 80 Nigerian migrants who were being held in various detention centers across the country. The deportation was carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Consulate in Tripoli and followed judicial directives issued by the Libyan Judicial Police.

The migrants were deported due to their illegal stay in Libya. The Libyan authorities have been working to curb irregular migration and decongest holding facilities, and this deportation is part of these efforts.

The 80 migrants were repatriated through Mitiga International Airport, with the support of the Nigerian Consulate in Tripoli. This effort is part of a larger initiative by Libyan authorities to regulate the presence of undocumented migrants and address concerns over overcrowding and human rights conditions in detention facilities.

The Libyan authorities, in partnership with diplomatic missions, continue to work towards addressing the issue of irregular migration. This deportation is a step towards ensuring that migrants are treated with dignity and respect, and that those who are in the country illegally are returned to their home countries.
