“Kwankwaso Sets Conditions for 2027: Presidential or VP Ticket a Must”

The national leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has set a condition for joining any coalition or forming an alliance with other political parties ahead of the 2027 general election. Kwankwaso stated that he would only consider joining a party that is willing to give him the presidential or vice-presidential ticket .

There have been speculations about Kwankwaso’s party affiliation, with some suggesting that he might join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The ADC already has notable figures such as former Vice President Alhaji Aliko Dangote, former presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi, who have declared interest in running for the presidency .

However, Kwankwaso has made it clear that he is not interested in joining any party that does not offer him a significant position. He emphasized that he is looking for a party that is willing to give him a presidential or vice-presidential ticket, stating, “We are looking for a party, but they must agree to give me, Rabiu Kwankwaso, a presidential or vice-presidential ticket” .

Kwankwaso’s condition has sparked debate among Nigerians, with some questioning whether his demands are feasible. The 2027 general election is expected to be highly competitive, with several notable candidates already throwing their hats into the ring. Kwankwaso’s decision will likely have significant implications for the outcome of the election .
