JAMB Announces 2026 UTME Registration: Key Dates and Requirements

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence on January 26, 2026, and end on February 28, 2026. This announcement was made by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with Commissioners for Education in Lagos State .

– Sale of UTME application documents (e-PIN) starts on January 19, 2026, and ends on February 26, 2026.
– Actual UTME registration period is between January 26, 2026, and February 28, 2026.
– Mock examination selection closes on February 16, 2026.
– Sale of Direct Entry application documents and e-PIN vending commences on March 2, 2026, and ends on April 25, 2026 .

– Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to be eligible for admission.
– Underage candidates will undergo a rigorous evaluation process to determine their eligibility for a waiver. They must score at least 80% in each of UTME/A’LEVEL, PUTME, SSCE, and exceptional candidate assessment.

– Candidates are not required to pay any service charge to CBT centers.
– Registration fees approved by the board are the only payments required.
– Candidates must declare their previous registration and admission history with the board .

– The 2026 UTME will take place from April 16, 2026, to April 25, 2026.
