Get Tested for HIV for Free in Lagos: World AIDS Day Initiative

The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) has launched a statewide free HIV testing initiative, marking a significant step towards expanding access to HIV testing and care. The program, which runs from November 18th to December 1st, 2025, aims to close existing testing gaps and deepen community awareness on HIV prevention, management, and stigma reduction .

Early testing is crucial in achieving the state’s public health goals. By knowing their HIV status, individuals can access prevention and treatment services, reducing the risk of transmission and improving their overall health and well-being .

The statewide exercise will feature:

Trained counselor-testers: Providing confidential and accessible testing services
