The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to providing free technical education in all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs). The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has warned against illegal charges and emphasized that no Nigerian child should be denied access to technical education due to unauthorized payments .

The government fully funds tuition for all students in FTCs.

– Uniforms
– Textbooks
– Exercise books
– ID cards
– Stationery
– Clubs and societies
– Medicals
– Vocational training
– Utilities
– Security
– Website/e-result
– Skool Media
– Extra lessons
– Insurance

Boarders in FTCs are expected to provide personal items such as:
– Bedding
– Toiletries
– School shoes
– Uniforms for religious observances
– Mosquito nets
– Cutlery
– Other essentials

The initiative reflects President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key driver of human capital development.
The government aims to equip young Nigerians with practical and employable skills to strengthen national competitiveness and economic growth. The Ministry has assured that monitoring mechanisms are in place to swiftly address infractions and safeguard the integrity of the free education policy.

The Minister has warned that no principal or administrator is permitted to impose extra levies on parents or guardians, and circulars reinforcing this policy will be distributed to all schools and parents to eliminate any ambiguity .
