Federal University of Transportation, Daura Matriculates 529 Students

The Federal University of Transportation, Daura, in Katsina State, Nigeria, has matriculated 529 students for the 2024/2025 academic session. This milestone marks a significant step towards achieving the university’s mission to produce world-class graduates in the transportation sector .

The university is the first of its kind in Nigeria and Africa, focusing exclusively on transportation-related fields.
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to producing high-quality graduates who can compete globally.
The university offers various programs, including Railway Engineering, Transportation Management, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management .

Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, emphasized the importance of producing graduates who can compete favorably with their global counterparts. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support to the university and the education sector .

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Umar Adam Katsayal, highlighted the university’s rapid progress since its establishment. The institution has received support from the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and the Katsina State government . The Federal University of Transportation, Daura, is poised to address the human capacity needs in Nigeria’s transportation industry. With its unique focus on transportation and railway engineering, the university aims to drive growth in the sector and contribute to the country’s economic development .
