Deadly Attack on Kebbi School: Bandits Abduct 25 Schoolgirls, Kill Vice Principal

In a shocking and disturbing incident, armed bandits stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, Kebbi State, abducting 25 schoolgirls and killing the school’s Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Makuku. The attack occurred on Sunday night, leaving the community in deep fear and mourning .

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits, who were heavily armed, arrived at the school around 4 am, shooting sporadically and breaching the school’s fence. They overpowered the security personnel and made their way to the dormitories, where they abducted the schoolgirls. The Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Makuku, was shot dead while trying to protect the students .

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed that a tactical team has been deployed to rescue the abducted students. The police, along with military personnel and vigilantes, are currently combing the surrounding forests and bandits’ routes to rescue the girls and apprehend the perpetrators. The Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, has assured the public that all efforts are being made to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students .

The incident has sparked widespread panic and fear in the community, with residents condemning the attack and calling for increased security measures to protect schools and vulnerable communities. The Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, has been dispatched to the school to assess the situation and provide support to the affected students and staff .
