Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry, emphasized that China opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs. She also stated that China supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions .
Bayo Onanuga, spokesman for President Bola Tinubu, shared China’s reaction on his X handle, reiterating the Nigerian government’s denial of religious discrimination and persecution of any kind in Nigeria.This development highlights the growing partnership between Nigeria and China, with China positioning itself as a key supporter of Nigeria’s development goals. In recent times, Nigeria and China have strengthened their ties, with agreements on military training and arms production.
