Bandits Ambush NSCDC Personnel in Katsina, Kill One Officer

A deadly ambush by suspected bandits has claimed the life of a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, CCA Adamu Abdullah, 37, in Katsina State. The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 5 p.m. in Dafa village along the Yantumaki-Danmusa road. Four other NSCDC personnel were injured in the attack, including .

The victims were attached to Operation Sharan Daji and were on transit when the bandits struck. Upon receiving the report, security personnel from Danmusa mobilized patrol teams to the scene, evacuated the injured officers to General Hospital in Dutsinma for treatment, and recovered their Hilux vehicle.

This attack highlights the escalating insecurity in Katsina State, where repeated incidents of armed banditry have been reported despite ongoing military operations aimed at restoring peace. The NSCDC has yet to release an official statement on the ambush, but residents are growing increasingly concerned about the frequency of armed assaults in the area .
