Akwa Ibom Governor Boosts Corps Members’ Allowance to ₦20,000

In a significant move to support National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Pastor Umo Eno has approved a substantial increase in their monthly state allowance. The allowance has been bumped up from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000, effective August 1, 2025.

Governor Eno explained that the increment aims to complement the Federal Government’s monthly allowance of ₦77,000, helping corps members meet their basic needs. With over 10,000 corps members posted to Akwa Ibom annually, the governor emphasized the need to continue encouraging and supporting them .
