Akwa Ibom Gov Cracks Down on Vandalism: Village Heads Warned
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has warned village heads that their certificates will be revoked if government property is vandalized in their areas. He emphasized that village heads who fail to protect public assets are of little use.
Eno directed the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to meet with village heads, stressing the importance of security-consciousness among Akwa Ibomites. He also announced plans for mini water projects in each ward, to be handled by the Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Committee.
The governor urged citizens to safeguard public property and common wealth. The event featured prayers and a sermon on trusting God’s mysterious ways, with attendees including state officials and clergy.
