BREAKING: Court Orders Forfeiture of 57 Properties Linked to Abubakar Malami and Sons

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the interim forfeiture of 57 properties allegedly linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his two sons, Abdulaziz Malami and Abiru-Rahman Malami. The properties, valued at N213,234,120,000, are located in Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna States .

Some of the properties under forfeiture include:

– A luxury duplex at Amazon Street, Maitama, purchased in December 2022 at N500 million (current value: N5.95 billion)
– A two-winged large storey building at No. 3, Onitsha Crescent, Area 11, Garki, purchased in December 2018 at N7 billion
– A five-storey building at Plot 683, Jabi District, Cadastral Zone B04, purchased in September 2020 at N850 million (current value: N8.4 billion)
– A property at No. 3130 within Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro District, FCT, Abuja, purchased in January 2021 at N360 million

 

The court has directed the publication of the interim order of forfeiture in a national daily, inviting any person or body with interest in the properties to show cause within 14 days why a final order of forfeiture should not be made. The matter has been adjourned to January 27, 2026, for a report of compliance .
