“Gombe State Government Supports 23,873 Students by Paying WAEC, NABTEB, and NBAIS Fees”

The Gombe State Government has taken a significant step towards promoting education and empowering its youth by approving N661,557,121 for the payment of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) fees for 23,873 students across the state. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to education and its efforts to reduce the financial burden on students and their parents.

The beneficiaries of this initiative include 21,909 students who will sit for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams, 1,431 students who will sit for the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) exams, and 297 students who will sit for the National Business and Technical Education Board Islamic Schools (NBAIS) exams. Additionally, the list of beneficiaries includes 183 non-indigene students on exchange programs in the state and 53 students living with special needs.

The Gombe State Government’s decision to pay the exam fees for these students reflects its commitment to inclusive education and its desire to provide opportunities for all students to succeed, regardless of their background or abilities. According to the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aishatu Maigari, “This reflects the inclusive nature of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration.”

This initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the students and the state as a whole. By paying the exam fees, the government is helping to reduce the financial burden on students and their parents, which can be a significant obstacle to education. This, in turn, can lead to improved academic performance and increased opportunities for students in the future.
