Reps Committee Summons NNPCL Boss Over Audit Queries
The Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives has summoned the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, to appear before it on December 15, 2025, over audit queries raised by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation. The queries relate to alleged irregularities in payments, contract execution, and tax compliance .
The committee had previously invited Ojulari to appear before it, but he failed to do so, citing another official engagement at the Presidential Villa. The committee expressed disappointment and frustration over his absence, warning that its patience was wearing thin .
The NNPCL is expected to respond to several queries, including alleged payments made to contractors for abandoned projects, failure to deduct statutory taxes, and irregular payments made by the Chief Finance Officer without the approval of the Group Managing Director .
The Public Accounts Committee is constitutionally empowered to examine audit reports submitted by the Auditor-General of the Federation. The committee has been working to enforce accountability and ensure that public funds are properly managed. In the past, the committee has uncovered significant irregularities and secured recoveries for the Federal Government .
