Nigeria’s Presidential Jet Withdrawn from Sale
The Nigerian government’s attempt to sell its presidential Boeing 737-700 Business Jet has hit a snag. JetHQ, the US company handling the sale, has withdrawn the aircraft from its sales platform. According to JetHQ’s Manager of Market Research, Laurie Barringer, the company no longer has the aircraft listed for sale and has directed further inquiries to the Nigerian government
The presidential jet was listed for sale in July 2025 as part of the government’s cost-cutting and fleet rationalization strategy. However, nearly four months after its listing, the jet remained unsold. In October 2025, JetHQ confirmed that the aircraft was still available for sale, but now, the company has withdrawn it from the market
The reasons behind the withdrawal of the presidential jet from sale are not clear. The Nigerian government has not provided any official statement explaining the reason for the withdrawal. The media aide to the National Security Adviser, Ismail Garba, promised to respond but has yet to do so
