Boosting Morale and Security: Over 24,000 Paramilitary Officers Promoted

The Ministry of Interior has announced a major promotion exercise, elevating over 24,000 officers across four paramilitary agencies. The affected agencies include the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps

The promotion exercise saw a total of 11,426 officers promoted in the Correctional Service, 4,336 in the Immigration Service, 2,581 in the Fire Service, and 5,859 in the Civil Defence Corps. This move is aimed at boosting the morale of personnel and ensuring proper service delivery in their respective agencies

The Minister of Interior noted that promotions had stagnated in previous years but emphasized that the current administration is committed to improving personnel welfare to strengthen the fight against insecurity. This move is part of ongoing efforts to address delays in career progression and improve staff welfare
