NAFDAC Urges Nigerians to Report Adverse Drug Reactions

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is calling on Nigerians to report any adverse reactions or side effects from medicines, vaccines, cosmetics, and other regulated products. According to Esther Itua, Edo State Coordinator of NAFDAC, the MedSafety App and other digital platforms provide a convenient and efficient way for the public to submit reports

Nigerians can report adverse effects through the e-reporting portal on the NAFDAC website or by using the MedSafety App. This app is a modern tool that allows users to submit reports and receive immediate feedback from NAFDAC, confirming that their report has reached the National Pharmacovigilance Centre.

Reporting adverse reactions is crucial in ensuring the safety of consumers and preventing harm from substandard products. NAFDAC’s efforts to enhance drug safety and boost patient confidence are commendable. By reporting adverse reactions, Nigerians can contribute to the agency’s goal of reducing risks associated with medication use

NAFDAC’s Edo State office recently organized a sensitization programme to highlight the importance of reporting adverse drug effects. The programme aimed to educate the public on the need to report any unusual signs or symptoms after using drugs or medical products.

If you experience any adverse reactions or side effects from medicines, vaccines, cosmetics, or other regulated products, report them to NAFDAC today. Download the MedSafety App or visit the NAFDAC website to submit your report.
